Our Approach

Look, we're architects, not data miners. We only collect what we need to do our job well and keep in touch with folks who want to work with us. This isn't some massive tech company operation - we're a design studio that happens to have a website.

Your trust matters to us. When you reach out or share project details, we treat that information with the same care we'd give to blueprints for someone's dream home.

What We Actually Collect

When you contact us through the website or email, we'll have your name, email address, phone number if you share it, and whatever details you tell us about your project. Pretty straightforward stuff.

Our website uses basic analytics - think visitor counts and which pages people look at. We're not tracking your every move or building some creepy profile. We just wanna know if anyone's actually visiting our portfolio page, y'know?

If you've worked with us before, we keep project files, correspondence, and contract info. That's just good business practice and honestly required for professional liability reasons.

How We Use Your Info

Client Communication: Responding to inquiries, sending project updates, sharing design concepts - the actual work stuff.

Project Development: Creating designs, coordinating with engineers and contractors, getting permits. All the behind-the-scenes work that goes into a building.

Occasional Updates: Sometimes we send out newsletters about completed projects or new services. Not often though - we're usually too busy designing to spam people.

Legal Requirements: There are professional obligations and building code records we gotta maintain. It's part of being a licensed architecture firm in Ontario.

Who Sees This Stuff

Mostly just us - the team at Crimson Quintar. Sometimes we work with structural engineers, contractors, or specialized consultants on projects, and yeah, they might see relevant project details. They're professionals bound by their own confidentiality rules.

We use standard cloud services for file storage and email (the usual suspects). They have their own security measures in place. We're not selling your info to marketing companies or anything sketchy like that.

If there's a legal requirement - like a court order or regulatory compliance thing - we'd have to share information. But that's never happened in our years of practice, and hopefully never will.

Your Rights Under Canadian Law

Canada's got solid privacy laws (PIPEDA for the nerds out there), and we follow them. You can ask what info we have about you, request corrections if something's wrong, or ask us to delete your data - though we might need to keep some records for legal or professional reasons.

Wanna opt out of newsletters? Just click unsubscribe or shoot us an email. Easy.

If you've got concerns about how we're handling your information, talk to us first. We're reasonable people. If that doesn't work out, you can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security Measures

We use encrypted connections for data transmission, secure file storage systems, and regular backups. Our team knows not to leave client files open on their laptops at coffee shops or anything careless like that.

Nothing's 100% secure in the digital world - anyone who promises that is lying. But we take reasonable precautions and stay current with security best practices.

Cookies & Website Tracking

Our site uses minimal cookies - basically just to remember if you've visited before and keep the contact form working properly. We use Google Analytics to see general traffic patterns, but it's set to anonymize IP addresses.

No targeted advertising cookies, no social media trackers following you around. We honestly don't care where else you browse online - that's your business.

Portfolio & Project Photos

Before we share any project images publicly, we get written permission from clients. Sometimes we blur or crop out personal details in interior shots. If you're a past client and spot something you're uncomfortable with, let us know and we'll take it down.

Project details we share are generalized - nobody's getting your full address or floor plans posted online without explicit consent.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we'll post the new version here with an updated date at the top. For major changes, we'd probably send an email to active clients. But honestly, our approach to privacy isn't likely to change much - we've always been pretty conservative about this stuff.

Questions or Concerns?

If something here doesn't make sense or you've got specific privacy questions, just reach out. We're happy to explain our practices in plain language.
